The Siege of Fort Mifflin: A Revolutionary War
Reenactment and Living History. In November of 1777 the
future looked bleak for the fledgling United States. The
British were garrisoned in the nation's capital city,
Philadelphia, and their much needed supplies were on the
ships headed up the Delaware River. If the supplies
reached them before winter came, Howe's army would go out
to meet and destroy the remains of Washington's tattered
troops. Only one thing stood between those supply ships
and the British army - Fort Mifflin. The little Fort
would withstand 5 weeks of bombardment and "hold to
the last extremity". This event commemorates that
brave and determined action and the 250 men who gave
their lives that cold and icy November. Living history,
battle reenactments, and a commemoration service Sunday
at 11:00 as well as music, demonstrations, and children's
activities. 11:00 am - 3:30 pm

The Twelfth Night: A Revolutionary Christmas - The
Founding Fathers - and Mothers - truly knew how to
celebrate Christmas. They sang and they danced, they
drank and they ate, and ate. The decorating was all
natural and the parties went on for 12 days! Fort Mifflin
brings the spirit of this holiday tradition to life as we
invite our visitors to join in the fun and make a holiday
memory different from all the rest. A very special
colonial dinner will be served in the Mess Hall - by
reservation only and at an additional cost Regular
admission of the "Twelfth Night" festivites.
Appropriate for the entire family. 5:00 - 11:00 pm .
